Operations Associates (OA s) are responsible for performing multiple tasks that ensure the safe and efficient operation of production equipment to produce finished ceramic substrates for the automotive industry from raw materials. Tasks include but are not limited to; machine setup and operation, process monitoring and decision making, visual inspection of product at various stages of production, material and product handling, and basic maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently communicate with other employees, contractors, and customers verbally or in writing using various means such as email, phones, radios, or other devices
  • Operate production machinery and computers, perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting, and monitor machinery performance to quantity and quality standards
  • Ensure work space is maintained to 5S standards; clean and orderly
  • Know and adhere to all Safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), plant work rules, Corning policies and procedures, and all performance metrics or targeted objectives
  • Assist R&D, engineering, operations, and other Corning employees or contractors with experiments or other duties
  • Use computer systems and equipment to enter and retrieve data, monitor production processes, and to communicate
  • Provide training to other Corning employees or contractors on various topics as assigned and maintain all required training as well as any certifications
  • Receive, understand, verify, update, and maintain control of production paperwork, data logs, work tools, and other resources
  • Physically and visually inspect product for defects and accurately decide on the appropriate action(s) to take
  • Work in a team environment to optimize output of quality product, assist others as necessary, and promote safety awareness

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed indoors with light lifting, turning, pivoting, and reaching. Heavy lifting may occur in rare instances. Exposure to elements of dirt, dust, fumes, oils, lights, and noises is expected.

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • At least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements

  • Vision correctable to 20/20
  • Lifting of weight up to 50 lbs. to waist height and 30 lbs. to shoulder height
  • Hand manipulation of materials, tools, keyboards, and other work items
  • Mobility over wide floor areas and ability negotiate stairs
  • Remain standing for periods exceeding two (2) hours
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment

Hours of Work

Twelve (12) hour shifts with ability to rotate through a variety of tasks and assignments may be day shift or night shift.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
