Position: Software Engineer Type: Full Time Location: Christiansburg Foxguard Solutions is excited to hire a new software engineer! We are growing and excited about our world-class products and research! This software engineer will support cybersecurity research and product development efforts. FoxGuard Solutions provides cybersecurity and regulatory compliance services and solutions to critical infrastructure entities and control system vendors. As a software engineer with the FoxGuard Solutions, you will work on a high-energy team, writing great software by using the best engineering practices in the industry today (e.g. unit testing, source control, continuous integration, automation, design patterns). We are looking for a highly motivated team member that will help guide the team in the use of modern engineering practices, by example. Passion for all aspects of software development, along with the drive for innovation and cutting edge technology is a must! Minimum requirements for this position include (but not limited to): 3-5 years of software development experience in Windows and Linux environmentsExperience programming with C#, C, or C++Knowledge of advanced software engineering concepts such as SOLID, DRY, YAGNI, Law of Demeter, unit testing, design patterns, refactoring techniques, etc.Experience writing networking code for various situations, client/server, SNMP, etc.Hands-on experience developing security minded, enterprise applicationsExperience with an MVC framework Preferred Requirements Experience mentoring and leading more-junior developers Ruby, Python, SQL, Java, PHP, Lampstack Education Requirements: B.S. Computer Science or an equivalent level of training and experience3-5
years of related experience writing software applications.
